KVPI wins "Uniquely Louisiana" award for the La Tasse de Cafe radio show from La. Broadcasters

The Louisiana Association of Broadcasters held its annual Prestige awards ceremony today in Baton Rouge. KVPI FM 92.5 was honored to receive the "Uniquely Louisiana" award for airing the popular "La Tasse de Cafe" radio show. The bilingual call-in radio show has grown dramatically over its 50 year history. The original hosts were Jim Soileau and the late Dan Andrus and began as a once a week half hour show. The show has grown and evolved to become an hour long four day a week show with hosts Jim Soileau, Charlie Manuel, Mike Perron and Mark Layne. Internet streaming has brought new listeners from throughout the country and other countries. KVPI General Manager Mark Layne would like to thank Polly Johnson and the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters for this recognition. A special thanks to Mallory Moser for her hard work in gathering and preparing the nomination. He said " I am proud to share this award for everyone who enjoys our local Cajun French programming including our French News. Thank you to every member of our staff and to the President of Ville Platte Broadcasting Company, Dr. Rhonda Fink Pucheu, a second generation broadcaster, for her continued support of everything we do."
