For the ninth year in a row, KVPI-FM 92.5, was honored by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters with its "Radio Station of the Year" award for excellence in broadcasting. The radio station was recognized for its service to the community. This is the 11th time overall, KVPI-FM has been honored by the broadcasters of Louisiana. The award was presented at the annual Prestige Awards luncheon held today at the Doubletree Hotel in Lafayette. KVPI General Manager Mark Layne thanked the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters for this honor. In his statement, Layne said "I want to thank our great staff: Cheryl, Becky, Nancy, Jim, Charlie, Ashlee, Annona, Swabby, A.J., Danny J, Katie Jo, Lizzy, Mike along with our engineer Dave Graichen and our sports announcers: Tracey Jagneaux, Jeremy Jorden and Elliot West. They make my job easy. "Thank you to our cherished clients and wonderful listeners who support us. In closing, my special thanks to my boss: Dr. Rhonda Pucheu, the President of Ville Platte Broadcasting Company, a second generation broadcaster.
