Are you ready for some Football?

KVPI Sports will be broadcasting both games of the Evangeline Parish High School Football Jamboree live from Mamou High Green Demon Stadium kicking off our season of high school football. The first games has Ville Platte Pine Prairie at 6;00pm. The second game will have Mamou Hosting Basile. The KVPI Sports Team will be there covering all of the games this football season: Play by Play Announcer Tracy Jagneaux and Color Analyst Micah Chatman. Listen each week for the high school football coach’s show live from the Crawfish Barn with Tracy Jagneaux talking with all of our parish football coaches Wednesday nights at 6;30pm beginning next Wednesday August 31 throughout the football season.

Sacred Heart will travel to play in the Joe Nagata Memorial Jamboree playing St. Edmunds Friday night in Eunice at about 7:30pm.

KVPI Sports gearing for High School Football Action This Season

The KVPI Sports Team, Play by Play Announcer Tracy Jagneaux and Color Analyst Micah Chatman are ready to cover Evangeline Parish High School Football Action for the 2016 season. Once again, we will have a game of the week with some weeks we will cover two games. We plan to broadcast some games from every high school in the parish beginning with the Parish Jamboree August 26 at Mamou. Join us every Friday night at 7:00pm on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI FM, Acadiana's Sports Connection.

Louisiana All Stars Eliminated from World Series after losing to North Carolina

     The Louisiana All Stars were defeated by the North Carolina All Stars tonight (Monday) at the Dixie Youth World Series in Laurel, Mississippi by a score 4-3.  With the defeat the team from Ville Platte was eliminated from the World Series.

     Recapping their games, the All Stars lost their first game Saturday night to the host team. They came back and won their second game against Virginia.

     All of us back home in Ville Platte would like to congratulate Hayden Fontenot, Aiden Brignac, Remington Guillory, Dylan Blevins, Evan Deshotels, Gabe Courville, Isaac Leger, Amarion Watson, Bryce Deville, Sam Fontenot, Ethan Fontenot and Landry Lafleur. Congratulations to Head Coach Delaney Fontenot and his Assistant Coaches: Chris Brignac and Chris Guillory.

     The all stars swept through Sub District, District, Regional and State tournament without a loss. We are very proud of the boys, parents and coaches for their efforts and for representing us well in the world series.

     KVPI would like to thank our Sports Announcer Eric Leger for doing a great job doing play by play.

Ville Platte All Stars Win Game Two in World Series

       After losing its first game Saturday night to the host team, 4-0, the Louisiana All Stars came roaring back Sunday beating Virginia 11- in the Dixie Youth World Series from Laurel, Mississippi. The All Stars will next play at 5:45 Monday live on KVPI-FM 92.5 with Sports Announcer Eric Leger.

Radio Thon today raised money for Ville Platte All Stars

     KVPI sponsored a fund raising "radio thon" this (Tuesday) morning for the benefit of the Ville Platte 12 year old all stars, the Louisiana Champs who will compete in the Dixie Youth World Series this weekend.

 

    All of theboys along with the coaches and parents were in attendance with Steph in the Non Blonde Cafe onClassic Hits 92.5 KVPI. The parents of the boys answered the phonecals fromlisteners who made donations. The team raised approximately $1200 during the three houd fund raiser.

 

    Special thanks to everyone who made a donation during our radio thon. KVPI Sports plans to carry all of the ville Platte games in the World Series live from Laurle, Mississipi beginning Satuday night with Sports Announcer Eric Leger.

The Ville Platte Louisiana All Stars will be in the studio tomorrow morning in their uniforms ready to take your donations to help them with expenses to travel to Laurel, Mississippi to compete in The Dixie Youth Dixie Major World Series next weekend! The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.
 

Admission charge is $3 adults,

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
The museum is located on
