KVPI Local Sports Update

The Sacred Heart High Turkey Tournament continued Tuesday with a full day of games at Trojan Gym.

    Here are the final scores of Tuesday’s games:

 

Boys action: Oak Hill 53 Sacred Heart 35; Crowley 64 Iota 44; Pine Prairie 71 South Cameron 38; Pine Prairie 62 Oak Hill 37; Montgomery 53 St Edmund 32.

 

Girls action: In overtime action, the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans beat Oak Hill 46-44; Oakdale 50 Pine Prairie 22; Oak Hill 46 Basile 42; St. Edmund 40 Basile 33.

 

In the finals today: Sacred Heart Lady Trojans will play Oakdale at 6:30 tonight while the Pine Prairie High Panthers will take on Crowley in the boys finals at 8:00pm tonight.

KVPI Sports Update

KVPI Sports is making arrangements to continue our coverage of the Northwest High Raiders in the state playoffs. After their huge win over Jena Friday, the Raiders will next travel to play West Feliciana High Friday night at 7:00pm. You will hear the game on 92.5 KVPI FM and on the web at classichits925.com with the KVPI Sports Team: Tracy Jagneaux and Micah Chatman.

The KVPI Sports team, Tracy Jagneaux and Micah Chatman will be covering the Northwest High-Jena playoff game Friday night over 92.5 KVPI FM and on classichits925.com. Northwest High, undefeated in the regular season, advances in the playoffs to host Jena at home Friday night at 7:00pm. Pre game at 6:45 and the S.E.C. report at 6:30.

Sacred Heart Pitcher Signs with McNeese

SACRED HEART PITCHER SIGNS WITH MCNEESE

    Sacred Heart High School honored senior pitcher Connor Fontenot today (Wednesday) during National Signing Day. The entire Sacred Heart student body was invited to the school gym as School Principal Dawn Shipp recognized Fontenot, the son of Brandon Fontenot and Brandy Estis. Baseball Coach Gary Ashworth and his assistant coaches also spoke during the special program. Fontenot will receive an athletic scholarship to attend McNeese State University in Lake Charles. After the special program, students and faculty enjoyed a special cake with the McNeese logo. KVPI congratulates Connor and wishes him the best of luck.

KVPI Local Sports Update

Now that the regular season in high school football is over, there are two high school football teams advancing to the state playoffs.

 

KVPI Sports is making arrangements to follow the Sacred Heart Trojans traveling to play Riverside Academy Friday night in the New Orleans area Friday night at 7:00pm. The KVPI Sports Team, Tracy Jagneaux and Micah Chatman, will be there calling the game for fans back home on 92,5 KVPI FM and on classichits925.com with pre game at 6:45. Those businesses interested in being a sponsor or parents wanting to do a shoutout are invited to contact a sales representative at 363-2124.

 

The second team making the playoffs is Basile High planning to travel to Lincoln Prep School in Grambling Friday night.
We want to wish both teams good luck as they advance in the state playoffs.

Be sure to tune in to 92.5 KVPI FM Wednesday night at 6:30pm live from the Crawfish Barn in Vidrine as KVPI Sports Announcer Tracey Jagneaux talk with parish high school coaches. This will be the final coach’s show for the regular season.

 

Our KVPI High School Football Game of the Week is Friday night at 7:00pm as Basile High hosts St. Edmunds High with pre game at 6;30pm and the SEC report at 6:30pm. Hear the game with the KVPI Sports Team Tracey Jagneaux and Micah Chatman.

 

College Football Saturday: LSU hosts #1 ranked Alabama Saturday night at 7:00pm live on KVPI FM 92.5.
