     In Boy’s High School Basketball action Friday night:

Mamou High Demons beat Jeanerette 65-62. The Green Demons will travel to play Lakeside Tuesday night at 6:00pm.

The Ville Platte High Bulldogs beat Vidalia 79-60. The Bulldogs will travel to play Amite Tuesday night at 7:00pm in the second round of the playoffs.

Also, Sacred Heart lost to St. Thomas Aquinas 62-24. The Basile High Bearcats lost to Arcadia 66-43.

Good luck to Ville Platte and Mamou in the playoffs.

In Girls Basketball, we have two girls teams going to the Top 28 basketball tournament in Hammond:

Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs will play South Beauregard at 6:15pm Wednesday night;

Mamou High Lady Demons will play Rayville Wednesday at 11;30am. KVPI Sports plans to broadcast both of these games on 92.5 KVPI FM with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL UPDATE

FEBRUARY 24, 2017

 

     In High School Girls basketball playoff action Thursday night, the Ville Platte High lady Bulldogs defeated Iowa 77-39 in a game broadcast over KVPI FM. The Lady Bulldogs advance to the Top 28 girls basketball tournament in Hammond next week. The team will face South Beauregard in the state semi final game Wednesday March 1 at 6:15pm.

    Also, the Mamou High Lady Demons beat Rapides High last night 68-55. The team advances to also play in a state semi final game against Rayville at the Top 28 tournament in Hammond Wednesday March 1 at 11;30am.

KVPI Sports Update

KVPI Sports will be covering the Pine Prairie High Panthers Bi District Playoff game Friday night at 7:00pm as they travel to play against South Beauregard in Longville. KVPI Sports Announcer Micah Chatman will be doing the play by play. You can hear the game on KVPI FM 92.5 and on classichits925.com.
Other first round games Friday: Sacred Heart travel to play St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:0pm; Basile High travels to play Arcadia at 6;00pm; Mamou hosts Jeanerette at 7:00pm and Ville Platte High hosts Vidalia at 6:00pm. Good luck to all our parish teams in the playoffs.

KVPI Sports Covring Girls Basketball Action Monday Night

KVPI Sports plans to carry the regional round of the High School Girls Basketball action Monday night: The Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs hosting Wossman at 6;00pm with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman over KVPI 1050 AM The Legend and the Sacred Heart Lady Trohans traveling to play Episcopal in Baton Rouge Monday night at 6;00pm with Sports Announcer Thomas Scully over KVPI FM 92.5. KVPI Sports Update

We have four Evangeline Parish girl’s basketball teams advancing to the regional round of the state playoffs. All four games will take place Monday night with 6:00pm starts.

 

Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs advance to round two by hosting Wossman to be broadcast live on KVPI 1050 AM with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman;

Sacred Heart Lady Trojans travel to play Episcopal High in Baton Rouge with Sports Announcer Thomas Scully over KVPI FM 92.5.

Basile High Lady Bearcats travels to play Arcadia.

Mamou High Lady Demons hosts Lakeview.

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
