Cafe Evangeline presents the band Courtbouillon featuring Wayne Toups, Steve Riley, and Wilson Savoy on Friday, January 18th. This event is sold out, but KVPI had tickets for a table for two. These tickets (value of over $200) includes the live musical entertainment, a meal, and drinks. This week, when listeners heard the Steve Riley cue to call, they called the contest line to be entered into the drawing for a chance to win. The 2018 Savoy Cancer Center Breast Cancer Awareness Walk/Run was held this morning under beautiful sunny skies. A capaicty crowd of participants took part in the walk all for the benefit of indigent cancer patients. The highlight was the survivors walk featuring cancer survivors. KVPI 92.5 's Becky Vidrine and Annona Balfa were there in Mamou covering it live and even took a picture with a snake.

A walk through the past brought visitors to Washington this weekend for the Washington Old School House Fall Antique Fair. The weather was perfect for antique shopping outside on the school house yard and inside the many rooms of the school house. The Classic Hits 92.5 road crew, Becky and Josh, were there Friday afternoon to view the displays and talk with some of the exhibitors. The fair continues through Sunday.

Despite the rainy weather outside, the annual La Tasse de Cafe Reunion gathering was a big success. The dining area in the rear of Main Street Pizza in Ville Platte was packed with friends, well wishers and listeners of the popular radio program. Listeners from Prairie Rhonde, Mamou, Eunice and other areas attended. Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine and City Councilman Mike Perron welcomed the crowds. Police Juror Eric Soileau from Mamou was also there. One of the highlights were the students from mamou Elementary enrolled in the French Immersion program along with the three Immersion Teachers. The students led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance in French and sang "The Mardi Gras song.

The restaurant has had a complete facelift, inside and out, with new features like new touch screen kiosks and table service. The Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI road crew will be broadcasting live on remote Monday for the Grand Re-Opening of McDonald's in Ville Platte. The local restaurant has had a complete facelift. To celebrate the event, McDonalds is offering daily $5 meal special Monday through next weekend . The Monday meal special is a Big Mac meal for $5.
