Ville Platte 12's State Champs!!!

Ville Platte 12’s Dixie Majors State Champs

   Congratulations to the Ville Platte 12 year old all stars who captured the state title today (Saturday) in the Dixie Youth Dixie Majors State Tournament held in Alexandria. The final score was 20-4 as Ville Platte defeated Cleary Playground from New Orleans. The Ville Platte 12’s team has swept through all their tournaments with an incredible undefeated record. Congratulations to the entire team: Hayden Fontenot, Aiden Brignac, Remington Guillory, Dylan Blevins, Evan Deshotels, Gabe Courville, Isaac Leger, Amarion Watson, Bryce Deville, Sam Fontenot, Ethan Fontenot and Landry Lafleur. Congratulations to Head Coach Delaney Fontenot and his Assistant Coaches: Chris Brignac and Chris Guillory.

    The team will represent Louisiana in the Dixie Youth World Series against eleven other teams in Laurel, Mississippi beginning August 6. KVPI Sports is making arrangements to carry all of our boys games in the world series.

Dixie Youth Regional Recap

Congratulations to the Ville Platte Dixie Majors All Stars who captured the regional championship tonight over St. Mary's by a score of 7-1. The team advances to the state Dixie Youth tournament beginning Friday in Alexandria for the 2 our of 3 tournament. KVPI Sports is making plans to carry those games for fans and family back home. KVPI carried all of the regional tournament games with Sports Announcer Eric Leger.

 

Our Ville Platte Super Tens lost to West Carroll tonight 7-0 and was eliminated from the regional tournament. We want to congratulate Coach John Pitre, all of his assistants and the entire team for their accomplishments from Sub District, District and Regional Tournaments. Thank you for representing Ville Platte well. All of the Super Ten games were carried over KVPI with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman.

 

Congratulations to the Mamou Super Tens who defeated Franklin in their game. Mamou will play again in the Finals Wednesday to determine the regional champ and who advances to the state tournament.

 

Dixie Youth Baseball Update

Baseball Update

 

   The Ville Platte 12 year old all stars remain undefeated in the Dixie Youth Regional Tournament going on in the Morgan City area. Last night, the 12 year old all star beat Pontiff 13-0. They will play in the finals today at 5:30 against St. Mary. You can hear that game at 5:30pm over KVPI FM 92.5 with Sports Announcer Eric Leger.

   Our Ville Platte Super Ten all stars lost its first game of their regional tournament at the hands of West Carroll by a score of 9-2. The two teams will face each other in the finals today at 5:30. You can hear that game over KVPI AM 1050 with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman.

   Also, the Mamou Super Tens all Stars beat St. Mary Central. The Mamou All Stars advance to play in the finals today at 5:30.

THE VILLE PLATTE 12 YEAR OLD ALL STARS WILL PLAY TONIGHT AT 7;30 LIVE ON KVPI FM WITH ERIC LEGER DOING THE PLAY BY PLAYWHILE THE VILLE PLATTE SUPER TENS GAME WILL BE AT 7:30PM OVER KVPI AM WITH MICAH CHATMAN CALLING THE GAME.

Dixie Youth Regional Tournaments Began Today in Morgan City

The 2016 regional tournaments began today in Morgan City for three of our local and area Dixie Youth teams The Ville Platte and Mamou Super Tens play today in their tournament. The Ville Platte Super Tens beat West Carroll 10-4. They will next play at 5:30pm Saturday. No score on the Mamou Super Tens game. The Ville Platte 12 year old Dixie Majors beat St. Mary Central by a score of 6-1. The next game is at 7:00pm Saturday.

 

KVPI Sports plans to begin our coverage of the Ville Platte teams on Saturday. The Super Tens game will be on KVPI 1050AM and on kvpionline.com with Micah Chatman at 5:30pm while the 12 year olds game will be on KVPI FM 92.5 and on classichits925.com with Sports Announcer Eric Leger at 7:00pm

Pony World Series Update

Ville Platte Girls Update: Here's the latest news from the Pony World Series: The Ville Platte 6U all stars beat host team Youngsville 16-9 over KVPI after a long rain delay. Austin, Texas beat the Ville Platte 6U girls 20-12 in a game over KVPI. The 6U girls won tonight 15-6. Their next game is 8:00am.

The Ville Platte 8U girls were beaten by the Dirt Diamond team 14-5. In a second game, Harlingen Texas beat the Ville Platte 8U girls 16-0. As a result of the loss, our 8U girls were eliminated from the world series. All of us want to express our appreciation to the 8U girls and to Coach Jason Fontenot and his assistants Brian Bergeron, Mike Veillon and Katra Brignac for all their hard work. We are very proud of what you accomplished and for representing us well in the world series.

The Ville Platte 10U all stars beat Laredo, Texas 9-3 and advance to play in the winner's bracket at 8:00am against the Texas Blasters.

Pony League World Series Begins Wednsday in Youngsville

All three Ville Platte all star softball teams begin competing in the Pony League world series Wednesday beginning with pool play. Here is the schedule of games they will play: Ville Platte 8 and under girls : Wednesday: 10:20am, and 6:30pm and Thursday at 9:10am; Ville Platte 6 and under girls : Wednesday at 10:15am and 2;00pm and Thursday at 10:20am. The Ville Platte 10 and under girls: Wednesday 11:30am and 3;00pm and Thursday at 9:10am. Here is our broadcast schedule for Wednesday: 10:15am-Ville Platte 6 year olds and at 11:30am- the 10 year olds both on KVPI 1050 AM and on kvpionline.com. Wednsday at 3:00pm the Ville Platte 10's and at 6:30pm Wednesday the 8 year olds. The next game Thursday at 9:10am with the Ville Platte 8's on KVPI AM. Once we get the rest of the Thursday schedule in bracket play we will announce it. KVPI Sports Announcer Tracy Jagneaux will call the games live from Youngsville. The Ville Platte 8 and under all all stars visited KVPI studios this morning to record special shouts that will air all week long. The team includes: Amelia Bergeron,Addison Soileau, Isabella Deshotel, Denae Lachney, Amelia Fontenot, Alyssa Brignac, Chloe Adcock, Allese Veillon, Jakaiva Jack, Karleigh Ortego, Michelle Hessnor and Layla Lewis. The head coach is Jason Fontenot and assistant coaches Brian Bergeron, Mike Veillon and Katra Brignac. The all stars will compete in the Pony League World Series in Youngsville beginning Wednesday. The Ville Platte 10 and under girls all stars visited KVPI studios today to record special shoutouts that will air through the week. The team will compete in the Pony League World Series beginning Wednesday in Youngsville. KVPI Sports plans to cover some of their games. The team includes: Taylor Darbonne, Jodie Landry,Chloe Moreau, Kali Shiver, Destiny Lavigne, Ava Johnson, Jenna Smith, Rose Ardoin, Catherine Larson, Harlie Guillory, Maddie Bertrand, Brooklyn Gerald along with Head Coach Shane Darbonne and Assistant Coaches James Shiver, Todd Ardoin and Travis Johnson. The Ville Platte 6 and under girls all stars visited KVPI studios today to record special shoutouts. The all stars will compete in the Pony League World Series in Youngsville beginning Wednesday. The team includes: Sydia Ortego, Carmen Charlie, Carley Lafleur, Jeniah Leday, Morgan Tezeno, Eliza Lahaye, Maci Droddy, Layla Fontenot, Aida-Lyse Johnson, Jenna Veillon, Riley St. Cyr, Blayklee Thibodeaux, Carley Soileau, Tanilah Richard and Haedyn Phillips. Head Coach Sunny Lahaye and Assistant Coaches Nick Veillon, Jason Soileau and Dr. Brandon Fontenot. The shoutouts will be heard throughout the week. KVPI Sports plans to cover some of the team's games. Good luck to our 6 year old all stars.

T-Ball Tournament Update

The Mamou T-Ball All Stars lost to Shreveport American by a score 7-5 and were eliminated in the State T-Ball tournament at the Ville Platte Recreational Center. KVPI would like to congratulate all of the boys on the team and the coaches for working hard and doing a super job. We are very proud of your dedication and what you were able to accomplish.

T-Ball State Tournament Updates

Here’s an update on local teams at the State Dixie Youth T-Ball Baseball tournament going on at the Ville Platte Recreational Complex:

 

 

The Ville Platte T-Ball all stars lost to Tioga 21-11 earlier today and in their final game beat Sabine 11-4.

 

The Mamou T-Ball All Stars played four games in the tournament today. Here’s the recap:Mamou 20-Alexandria 19; Mamou 22 Shreveport 20; Mamou 19 Pine ville 18 and the final game: Oakdale 15 Mamou 9.

 

Both teams will be playing again Sunday. We want to wish the best of luck to both all star teams.

Ville Platte T-Ball Tea, wins today in state tournament

In the state T-Ball tournament going on this weekend at the Ville Platte Recreational Complex, the Ville Platte T-Ball Allstars defeated Sabine 11-4. Their next game is set for Saturday morning. Good luck to our all stars.

Baseball Update

KVPI Sports is covering the Dixie Youth Pitching Machine 8 year old state tournament going on in West Monroe with our Ville Platte 8 year old all stars. The first pool play game : Franklin 16 Ville Platte 6. The game was played on KVPI FM with Sports Announcer Elliot West. The next game is scheduled at 9:00am and again at 1;00pm and both of those games Friday will be broadcast over KVPI 1050 AM.

 

The Ville Platte T-Ball and Mamou T-Ball all stars are competing in the State T-Ball tournament at the Ville Platte recreational complex. The Ville Platte T Ball all stars today beat Ruston: 33-16.

KVPI Sports will cover State Pitching Machine tournament in Monroe

KVPI Sports is planning to cover the State Dixie Youth Pitching Machine tournament that begins Thursday in West Monroe. We will be covering the Ville Platte 8 year old all stars as they compete in the state tournament. First game in pool play begins Thursday at 5:00pm over KVPI FM with KVPI sports announcer Elliot West. We still have advertising sponsorships and family shoutouts available. Call KVPI at 363-2124 and talk with one of our advertising representatives for all the details.

Mamou wins district Dixie Youth title

The two best teams in Dixie Youth District Seven met for the third time today in Oberlin. Mamou beat Ville Platte 5-3 to claim the district championship in a game broadcast over Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI with Sports Announcer Tracy Jagneaux. Mamou won the first contest earlier in the week and Ville Platte came back and beat Mamou on Tuesday. Both teams advance to play in the Dixie Youth regional tournament in Morgan City July 22. Good luck to both teams.

Baseball Update

Congratulations to our Ville Platte 12 year old all stars who captured the District championship in a hard fought battle today in Deridder. The final score : Ville Platte 10-8 over Vernon National. The all stars will advance to play in the regional tournament. The game was played over KVPI-FM 92.5.

 

Our Ville Platte Super Tens defeated Dequincy tonight 16-6 in their district tournament in Oberlin. Ville Platte will face Mamou, the team that beat them, in a big game Tuesday night at 7;30. Best of luck to all of our all stars.

Ville Platte 12 year olds Win

The Ville Platte 12 year old all stars Dixie Majors beat Vernon Central 8-0 today (Sunday) in the district tournament going  on in Deridder. The team is undefeated after four games and will play in the finals Monday at 2:00. You can hear the game live on KVPI FM 92.5 with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman.

     We have not received any final score on the Ville Platte Super Tens game against Mamou today in Oberlin in their district tournament.

Girls Softball Update

 

     All three Ville Platte girls softball teams placed in the Pony League Regional tournament that ended today (Sunday) in Crowley.

     The Ville Platte 10 and under girls all stars in game one lost to Rayne 2-1 and lost to Mamou in game 2: by a score of 5-3. The all star girls came out third in the region and will advance to play in the Pony League world series in Youngsville in two weeks.

     The Ville Platte 8  and under girls all stars lost to Rayne 10-7 and came out second in the region. They will also compete in the world series.

     The Ville Platte 6 and under girls all stars lost to Dayton, Texas 16-10 and in the second game lost to Moss Bluff 16-15. The all stars came out third and will also compete in the Pony League world series.

    Congratulations to our local and area girls teams and best of luck in the world series.

Baseball and Softball Update

      The Ville Platte 12 year old all stars defeated Pine Prairie 19-4 today in game three of the District tournament in Deridder. The undefeated all star team advances to play Sunday at 3;00pm to be broadcast over KVPI FM 92.5 with Micah Chatman.

     The Ville Platte Super Tens beat Sulpher 14-1 today in their district tournament in Oberlin. They will advance and play Mamou Sunday.

    In Girls softball action at the Pony League regional tournament in Crowley:

The Ville Platte 10 and under all stars girls beat Crosby, Texas today: 28-0 and in the second game of bracket play defeated North Vermillion 13-0.

The Ville Platte 8 and under girls all stars beat Twin Country, Texas: 15-0 and in a second game: they beat Crowley 6-5;

The Ville Platte 6 and under girls all stars beat Highland, Texas 16-13.

Here's an update on the first day of pool play in the Pony League Regional tournament in Crowley:

 

The Ville Platte 8 and under girls all stars beat Vermillion 17-7 in game one. In the second game the girls beat Crowley 8-1.

 

The Ville Platte 10 and under girls all stars beat Moss Bluff 14-10 and in the second game , the all stars beat Turbo of Opelousas 15-10.

 

The Ville Platte 6 and under all stars beat North Vermillion 16-7.

 

Bracket play begins Saturday. Good luck to all of our girls teams.

LOCAL SPORTS UPDATE

JULY 1, 2016

 

      The Ville Platte 12 year old Dixie Majors defeated Moss Bluff in the first round of the District 7 baseball tournament in Deridder. The final score: Ville Platte 31 and Moss Bluff 1. The game was broadcast live on KVPI FM 92.5  They advance to play tonight at 7:30 against Dequincy. You can hear the game with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman. The tournament continues through Monday.

     Also the Ville Platte Super Tens All Stars are playing in their district tournament in Oberlin now through the weekend. Anyone with scores on how our Ville Platte team is doing please let us know.

     In girls softball action, the Ville Platte 10 and under, 8 and under and 6 and under girls all stars will be competing in a regional Pony League tournament today through the weekend in Crowley. Anyone with scores please let us now.
