Dixie Youth Baseball - 8's

The Ville Platte 8yr old All-Stars will begin play in the Eastern Sub-District tournament in Oberlin this Friday.  Here is their schedule in the round-robin event:  Friday, 5:30PM; Saturday, 1:30 and 6:00PM; Sunday, 1:00PM and Monday at 8:00PM.  KVPI is planning on broadcasting the games.

McCall, Shulz Named First Team NJCAA All-Americans

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Two LSU Eunice Lady Bengals were named to the NJCAA Division II Softball All-American squad.  Tina Schultz and Haley McCall took the first team honors with numerous other Division II players.  LSU Eunice was the only school to have two players named to the first team.

Tina Schultz finished the season with a 19-4 record on the mound for the Lady Bengals and recorded a 2.03 ERA.  She had 134 strikeouts in 141.2 innings.  She had a .351 batting average and was one of the top home run hitters in the NJCAA with 11 on the season.

McCall ended her career at LSU Eunice with a .413 batting average.  She was second on the LSU Eunice squad with 8 home runs.  McCall had 78 hits in 189 at bats and lead the team with 68 RBI.  She was also named NJCAA MVP at the 2011 National Tournament.
