Pine Prairie Girls Loses in Quarterfinal Action Today

 

   In a game aired over KVPI 1050 AM, Parkview Baptist Academy defeated the Pine Prairie High Lady Panthers by a score of 9-0. This was a quarterfinal game in Class 3-A softball tournament in Sulpher.

   KVPI would like to congratulate the players and coaches on an excellent season and for representing Pine Prairie and Evangeline Parish through the playoffs and making it to the state softball tournament. A special congratulations going out to the seniors on the team who played their final game. We are very proud of all of you.

Pine Prairie High Lady Panthers to compete in State Softball Tourney on Friday

KVPI Sports will be covering the Pine Prairie High Lady Panthers competing in the State Softball Tournament in Sulpher. First game will air on KVPI 1050 AM and on kvpiononline.com at 2;00pm as they play Parkview Baptist in the quarterfinal. KVPI Sports Announcer Micah Chatman will call the game. Game Two, the semi final will be at 1:00pm Saturday and the championship game at 7;00pm Saturday. Both of those games, should Pine Prairie continue to win, we will cary those games on KVPI FM 92.5. All of us are wishing the Lady Panthers Good Luck and bring home the Championship Title.

   The Mamou High Green Demons baseball team lost to Menard High School by a score of 5-0 in the first round of the state baseball playoffs. The game was broadcast live in Alexandria over KVPI FM with Sports Announcer Thomas Cully. KVPI would like to congratulate all of the players on the team and coaches on a great season . We are very proud of you.

   The Pine Prairie High Panthers advance to play North Webster this weekend to play in the second round of the state playoffs in a two out of three tournament.

    Eunice High hosts Lutcher at 5;00pm Friday in a two out of three tournament .

    St. Ed’s travels to play Covenant Christian this weekend in the second round of the state playoffs.

    KVPI Sports is planning to broadcast the Pine Prairie High Lady Panthers in quarterfinal action in the State 3-A Softball Tournament Friday at 2:00pm. That game will air over KVPI AM 1050 with Sports Announcer Micah Chatman live from Sulpher. Should Pine Prairie win, the semi final game will be at 1:00pm Saturday and the finals at 7;00pm Saturday. Both the semi-final and final will air on KVPI-FM.

Mamou Loses to Menard in First Round Baseball Action

The Mamou High Green Demons baseball team lost to Menard High School tonight by a score of 5-0. This was a first round game in the state baseball playoffs in Class 2-A baseball. The game was broadcast from Menard High in Alexandria over KVPI-FM with Sports Announcer Thomas Scully. We want to congratulate the entire team and coaches for the great season and finishing second in District.

Mamou High Travels to Play Menard Tuesday night over KVPI FM

        KVPI Sports is making plans to broadcast the Mamou High Green Demons baseball team as they travel to play Holy Savior Menard High School Tuesday night at 6:00pm in Alexandria in the first round of the state playoffs. This is a Class AA matchup with KVPI Sports Announcer Thomas Scully and will air on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI FM.

    The Sacred Heart Trojans today (Monday) lost in a heart breaker to Sterlington by a score of 3-2. This was first round action in the state playoffs broadcast live on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI with Sports Announcer Thomas Scully.

     Congratulations to the entire team and coaches for a great season and a special congratulations to the seniors on the team who played their final game. We are very proud of your accomplishments and for representing us well.

Pine Prairie High Panthers Wins First Round Baseball Playoffs

 

      Congratulations to the Pine Prairie High Panthers as they defeated De La Salle High School in the New Orleans area today (Monday). The final score was Pine Prairie 2 and De La Salle 1.

 

     Pine Prairie advances to the second round this weekend in a 2 out of three as they will face the winner of North Webster and Patterson. Good luck to the Panthers!!

The 2016 High School Baseball Playoffs Begin This Week

The 2016 High School Baseball Playoffs begin this week in Louisiana with a number of  schools advancing in the playoffs.

The Sacred Heart High Trojans will travel to play Sterlington High near Monroe Monday at 5;00pm in the first round of the playoffs. KVPI Sports is making arrangements to carry this game live over KVPI FM with Sports Announcer Thomas Scully.

In other local and area games, the Mamou High Green Demons will travel to play Menard in Alexandria.

The Pine Prairie High Panthers will travel to play De LaSalle near New Orleans.

The Eunice High Bobcats will host Kaplan.

And the St. Edmund Blue Jays will travel to play Ascension Christian.

KVPI Sports making arrangements to broadcast Pine Prairie High Panthers in State Softball Tourney This Weekend

   The Pine Prairie High Lady Panthers defeated the St. James Lady Wildcats Saturday after at home in Pine Prairie. As a result of that regional victory, the Lady Panthers have punched a ticket to advance and play in the state softball tournament in Sulpher beginning this weekend. The only softball team remaining in the playoffs, Pine Prairie will play #1 ranked Parkview Baptist Academy on Friday. We have not received the game time yet. KVPI Sports is making arrangements to carry the game for family and friends back home.

   The Pine Prairie High Panthers today in a game broadcast live on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI defeated the St. James High Wildcats 12-2 in a regional matchup at Pine Prairie High School. KVPI Sports Announcer Micah Chatman called the game . As a result of the victory, the Lady Panthers advance to the state softball tournament to face Parkview Baptist on Friday. KVPI Sports is making plans to carry their games in the tournament.

Sacred Heart Lady Trojans will face Notre Dame in Second Round of State Playoffs

 

     KVPI Sports has learned that the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans will face Notre Dame in the second round of the state playoffs Friday at 4;30pm. The Lady Trojans will travel to face Notre Dame in Crowley. We are making arrangements to broadcast this game with KVPI  Sports Announcer Tracy Jagneaux with pre game at 4:15pm on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI FM.

  The Pine Prairie High Lady Panthers Softball Team advance to the second round of the state playoffs Saturday at 2:00pm as they host St. James High School at home. KVPI Sports will be covering this game live with Sports Announcer Micha Chatman with pre game at 1:45pm.

 

   Also Notre Dame beat Oakdale 15-0. Notre Dame will face the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans in the second round of the playoffs later this week. KVPI Sports plans to cover this game. Keep listening for date and time.

Two Evangeline Parish High School Softball Teams Begin Playoffs

The Pine Prairie High School Lady Panthers begin state playoff action today at home at Pine Prairie against their first round opponent, Berwick High School. Game time is 6;00pm. KVPI Sports will be there covering the game with Sports announcer Micah Chatman live on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI-FM with pre game at 5:50pm.

 

The Sacred Heart High School Lady Trojans also begin state playoff action Monday at 4:30 at Opelousas Catholic High School. KVPI Sports is making arrangements to cover this game with Sports Announcer Tracy Jagneaux live on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI FM with pre game at 4:15pm.

Ville Platte Recreational Complex To Be Expanded

VILLE PLATTE RECREATIONAL COMPLEX TO BE EXPANDED

Good news for local baseball and softball fans. Our local legislative delegation, State Senator Eric Lafleur and State Representative Bernard LeBas, announced at the Dixie Youth opening ceremonies Saturday that state money has been secured to expand the Ville Platte Sports Complex. Over the next two years, the current complex will be expanded to add a new pod to hold four additional fields. This will greatly help in attracting large tournaments to the complex.


The weather was perfect as large crowds gathered for the opening weekend games at the sports complex. All of the girls teams as well as all of the boys teams competed in games on Saturday.


KVPI Sports was there for the first time, we broadcast the entire opening ceremonies with Emcee: Clerk of Court Randy Deshotel. We also covered both games of the Dixie Majors games over KVPI-FM with Sports Announcer Tracy Jagneaux.

Dixie Youth Opening Weekend

KVPI Sports plans to cover part of the Dixie Youth/Ville Platte Girls Opening day games at the Recreation Complex over KVPI FM 92.5 and on the web at classichits925.com. We will be broadcasting the entire Opening Ceremonies recognizing all of the teams and organizations beginning at 12:30pm. We plan to broadcast two Dixie Majors games: 2:00pm- Hawks vs. Giants followed by at 4:00pm- Falcons vs. Elks.

 

Here is the schedule for Dixie Youth: 9-10am-Dots vs. Falcons in T Ball and Giants vs. Cubs in Pitching Machine; 10-11am- Aces vs. Elks in T Ball and Aces vs. Bees in Pitching Machine; 11-12 noon- Bees vs. Cubs in T Ball and Dots vs. Giants in Pitching Machine; 2-3pm- Elks vs. Dots in Minors; Hawks vs. Giants in Majors; 3-4pm- Aces. vs Elks ; 4-6pm-Falcons vs. Elks in Majors and 4-5pm- Bee vs. Cubs in Minors.

Dixie Youth Opening Weekend

KVPI Sports plans to cover several Dixie Youth games on the Opening Weekend of the Dixie Youth baseball season at the Ville Platte Recreational Complex. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 12:30 Saturday with games before opening ceremonies and all afternoon. Keep tuned to KVPI Sports and right here for more info on which games we plan to cover with KVPI Sports Announcer Thomas Scully.
