Come visit the KVPI Family Wednesday as we celebrate our 70th anniversary in an Open House

KVPI Anniversary November 19, 2023 The KVPI family is inviting all our friends, clients and listeners and who have been supporting us for the past 70 years to join us as we celebrate our 70th anniversary Wednesday November 22 from 9:00am-3;00pm at our studios at 809 West Lincoln in Ville Platte. We will have parking available next to KVPI on the vacant lot and also there will be parking available on behind Investar Bank on the empty lot across from KVPI on LaSalle Street. There will be a sheriff's deputy directing traffic and guiding people where to park. There will be a tent erected in our front parking lot compliments of Mercy Hospital with tables and chairs compliments of the City of Ville Platte for our visitors to assemble during our opening program. Please bring a canned good to be donated to the Christian Care and Share Center for the upcoming Food for Families Food Drive. We will have cake and refreshments being served in our kitchen area. Please come in and sign our guest book. We will have free KVPI 70th anniversary coozies and register to win new KVPI 70th anniversary T shirts and a grand prize of a one night stay and meal for two at Coushatta Casino. We will have members of the KVPI staff giving free tours of the radio station studios. Also, we will have a DJ reunion. We are asking all past DJ's and employees to come visit us that day. We want to take your photo and do a short interview with each of you. At 10;00am, we are planning an opening program. It will include a welcome by the station manager, opening prayer and dedication in French and English by Fr. Jason Vidrine, the Pledge of Allegiance and songs in French with our French Immersion students, City Proclamation with Ville Platte Mayor Ryan LeDay Williams, along with several guest speakers and VIP's ending with a ribbon cutting. For those who can not attend, we will be broadcasting the event live on KVPI AM and FM. We will have a P.A. system for our visitors at the scene provided by DJ Tee Rob Soileau.
