Pine Prairie Police Arrest Post Office Burglary Suspect

Pine Prairie Police were called to investigate a burglary at the Pine Prairie Post office Wednesday morning. Assistant Police Chief Chuncey Fontenot was notified that several parcel lockers in the post office lobby were burglarized. After further investigation, Jacob Montie of 1722 4th Street, Pine Prairie was arrested in connection with the burglary. All of the stolen items from the lockers were located at the suspect’s home. Jacob Montie was charged with Burglary of a Post Office and Theft of over $300. His bond was set at $12,500 by Judge Larry Vidrine and is currently under investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspector Service.
