1 SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR 14:67 Felony Theft

On October 21, 2024 Pine Prairie Police received a complaint of a stolen golf cart from the 1600 Block of Pine Street. Assistant Chief Shane Guillory took the initial report and contacted Detective Joshua Uhlman about the matter. Both officers started investigating and checking local security camera footage which leads to two suspects. One suspect was recognized by AC. Guillory and one is a juvenile. The juvenile is being referred to the Evangeline Parish District Attorney’s Office for review and the adult was found to be Mark A. Bass of Oakdale. Mr. Bass and the juvenile removed the Bible off the golf cart and left it under the carport of the residence and stashed the stolen golf cart in the woods off Jeanus Road where it was recovered by officers. The golf cart was reported stolen to the Police Department at 10 a.m and recovered back in the owner’s possession by 2:45 p.m. Teamwork by both officers lead to the quick recovery of the golf cart.
