ARREST BRIEFING

On September 28, 2024, at 8:39 pm, deputies responded to a local hospital in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Upon arrival a 17-year-old female victim had come into the ER advising that she was raped by her sister's fiancé. A preliminary report was
completed and an investigation began.

During the investigation it was learned that the older sister’s fiancé and the victim were home together at the older sister’s residence on Tom Drive in Ville Platte. While the older sister was at work, the suspect (Marquevious Ardoin) told the victim to come meet him in the hallway. The suspect brought her into the bedroom, pushed her onto the bed, held her down, and forced her to perform inappropriate acts with him. He apologized to the victim after and the victim contacted her boyfriend to tell him what had happened.

Once the victim informed her boyfriend of what had taken place, he advised his mother of the incident who in turn notified the victim’s mother. The victim’s mother immediately transported her to a local emergency room where a sexual assault examination was conducted and multiple evidence items were obtained.

On October 11, 2024, an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect for one count of second-degree rape. He was later located by patrol deputies, arrested, and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail. His his bond is set at $250,000.00. The
investigation is still ongoing.
