SMOKED MEAT FESTIVAL COOKOFF RESULTS

     The 2013 Smoked Meat Festival took place last weekend at the city park grounds under the new management of Ping Enterprises.

     Here are the results of the cook off competition:

 

The Amateur Grand Champion Winner is First South Farm Credit Team B with their winning dish “Tioga’s Ponce and Surf with head chef Jared Tioga Vidrine.

 In the amateur division, here are the category winners: Sausage, Andouille and Ponce category: First Place- First South Farm Credit, Team B, Second Place- Cajun Grillerz and Third Place- Ha U Want It Creole Seasoning; In the Tasso Category- First Place- Cajun Grillerz, Second Place- First South Farm Credit Team A and Third Place- Citizens Bell Bottom Bankers Team 1; In the Smoked Seafood Category- First Place- Evangeline Bank Team 2; Second Place- Cameron Comrads Team 1; and Third Place- Papa Gators Seasoning; In the Smoked Poultry Category- First Place- Citizens Bank Bell Bottom bankers Team 2; Second Place- Citizens Bank Bell Bottom Bankers Team 1; Third Place- Cajun Grillerz; In the Smoked Game Category- First Place- First South Farm Credit Team A; Second Place- Cameron Comrades Team 1 and Third Place- Citizens Bank Bell Bottom Bankers Team 2 and in the BBQ Smoker Category- First Place- First South Farm Credit Team B; Second Place- Kim’s Lawn Care and Third Place- Papa Gators Seasoning.

 

The Professional Grand Champion Winners=Big Mamou Cajun beef Jerky with their winning dish “Now That’s a Pizza” with Head Chef Damien Douget;

 In the professional division, here are the category winners: Sausage, Andouille and Ponce category- First Place- Big Mamou Cajun Beef Jerky; Second Place- Teets Food Store and Third Place- R-T-Go’s Farms; In The Tasso Category- First Place- Cajun Crawfish Tails; Second Place- Teets Food Store and Third place- Century link; In the Smoked Seafood Category- First Place- R-T-Go’s Farms; Second Place- Cajun Crawfish Tails and Third Place-Mercy Regional Medical Center; In the Smoked Poultry Category—First Place-Relay for Life Team; Second Place- R-T-Go’s Farms; Third Place- Cajun Crawfish Tails; In the Smoked Game Category- First Place- Cajun Crawfish Tails; Second Place- Big Mamou Cajun Beef Jerky and Third Place- Teet’s Food Store; In the BBQ/Smoker Category—First Place- Rep. Bernard Le Bas Team; Second Place- Heritage Manor Nursing Home; and Third Place- Cajun Pie.

 

 Best Dressed Team- First Place- Citizens Bank with the 1960’s theme; Second Place- Cameron with the USA patriotic theme; and Third Place- Evangeline Bank team with the 1980’s theme.

Best Decorated booth- First Place- Kim’s Lawn Care with the Lawn Police Theme; Second Place- Ha U Want It Creole Seasoning with their seasoning theme; and Third Place- Citizens Bank with the 1960’s theme.
