Chamber of Commerce announces Nominees for 2013 Man and Woman of the Year

      The Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce has released the nominees for the 2013 Man and Woman of the Year honors.

      Nominees for Man of the Year: Tim Fontenot-Fontenot Physical Therapy; Ronald Landreneau of Ronald Landreneau and Associates; Dr. William “ToJo” Ward, Chairman of the Parish Industrial Development Board; George “Butch” Buller-retired; Randy Deshotel, Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court; Mark Buller-New York Life; Ronald “T” Doucet-Ville Platte City Marshal and Dr. Thomas Fontenot, chairman of the Recreational District Board;.

     Nominees for Woman of the Year: Mary Foster-Galosso-Evangeline Parish Librarian; Gloria George- Admit Clerk at Mercy Regional Medical Center; Rita Fontenot-Belaire Cove Crawfish Cookoff Chairperson; Diana Johnson-Evangeline Parish Jag Coordinator and Kayla McFarlian Kincanon-Citizens Bank.

    The announcement of the Man and Woman of the Year as well as Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Agriculture Person of the Year will all take place Wednesday May 1 at the Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet at the Civic Center. Reservations can be made through the chamber office.

The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.
 

Admission charge is $3 adults,

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
The museum is located on

Northwest Railroad Avenue.
