Mamou woman arrested on drug charges by Sheriff's Deputies

Mamou Woman arrested on drug Charges February 2, 2021 On Monday February 1, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit made a traffic stop on the Oberlin road for a traffic violation. The driver appeared extremely nervous during the conversation with the deputy. He brought out the drug dog, K-9 Diego. This led to the arrest of the driver: Mica K. Duplechain age 42 of Mamou. She was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Under Suspension and Driving Left of Center. As always, Sheriff Charles Guillory and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department is always seeking information on criminal activity and urges the public to contact their investigations department at 363-2161.
