Swamp Pop Star Van Broussard Passes Away

Swamp Pop Legend Van Broussard Dies November 17, 2020 KVPI News has learned from our music sources, that Swamp Pop music legend Van Broussard died today at age 83. Broussard has been playing Swamp Pop music for more than sixty years. He and his well known sister, Grace Broussard, had been attending the annual Swamp Pop reunion shows at the Ville Platte civic center for a number of years including earlier this year. One of his biggest hits was "Feed the Flame". KVPI FM 92.5 will do a special salute to his music all day on Friday along with playing back an interview we did several years ago.

The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.
 

Admission charge is $3 adults,

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
The museum is located on

Northwest Railroad Avenue.
