Rotary Club welcomes Visitors from Freedom Behavioral

The Ville Platte Rotary Club today (Tuesday) heard from Social Worker Holly Fontenot and Program Administrator Mitch Pellerin with Freedom Behavioral. Holly Fontenot discussed with club members the effects of Covid-19 on our mental health. She said there is a feeling of helplessness caused by the pandemic. She said some of the signs that many people are stressing over Covid-19: depression, guilt, anxiety , fear and anger. She suggested to club members to do the following: turn off the news media and social media, spend more time with family and friends and focus on things you can control. Freedom Behavioral has a unit located inside Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. The speakers were the guests of Rotarian Eric Gil. Club President Peter Strawitz announced that the club has scheduled a Fall Social November 10 at the Nob Hill Hunting Lodge with special guest District Governor Yvonne Norman.
