Evangeline Parish Bars Permitted to Reopen by Police Jury October 1, 2020 In a proclamation signed by Evangeline Parish Police Jury President Ryan Williams, all bars and taverns in Evangeline Parish are permitted to reopen. The declaration follows options given to parishes by Governor John Bel Edwards to opt-in to allow on -premises consumption of food and alcoholic beverages. The opt-in provisions require parishes to show a positivity rate of 5 percent or less for two consecutive weeks. Police Jury president Williams announced the positivity rate for the last two weeks have been 5% and 3% for the last two weeks.
