Ville Platte Police Arrest Subject on Attempted Murder Charge

Ville Platte Police Arrest local suspect on Attempted Murder Charge July 24, 2020 Ville Platte Police responded to a call of shots being fired at a local store Friday in the 700 block of Edward Notto Street. When they arrived, police found the male victim with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to a Lafayette area hospital for treatment. During their investigation, police found out that the wounded subject was shot by his brother. Police Detective Darrien Guillory secured an arrest warrant from 13th Judicial District Court Judge Gary Ortego for the arrest of the suspect. The suspect, Ahmed Ali , of 218 North Latour Street, Ville Platte was arrested by Bunkie Police, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff deputies and U.S. Marshals. Police Chief Neal Lartigue would like to thank the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bunkie Police, Avoyelles Sheriff Office, Lafayette Sheriff Office, U. S. Marshals Office and the Louisiana State Police for their help.
