Ville Platte Police arrest susuepcts in two separate incidents

Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reports two arrests in separate incidents. On Tuesday April 7, 2020, Chief Neal Lartigue and Officers responded to a report of a male subject in an outdoor kitchen. Upon arrival a black male was located and apprehended without incident. Arrested was Jeremie Attle, age 38, of 110 Deville Street, Ville Platte. Attle was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail on the charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Attle remains incarcerated on a $35,000.00 bond. On Wednesday April 8, 2020 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance on the 1000 block of Reverend E.D. Alfred Street. Upon arrival a male suspect was cursing and yelling at the homeowner and Officers. While being placed under arrest the suspect assaulted the Officer, fled into the residence and came back outside with a metal pipe and a golf club to attack the Officer again. After a short standoff the suspect locked himself inside the residence. Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Deputies arrived on scene to assist. The door to the residence was forced open and the suspect then resisted arrest again by fighting with Officers and Deputies. A deputy deployed a taser and the suspect complied and was arrested. Paul Bertrand, 36, of 1021 Rev. E.D. Alfred Street was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail on the charges of disturbing the peace, resisting an Officer with force or violence and aggravated assault. Bertrand remains incarcerated on a $13,500.00 bond. Chief Lartigue reminds residents that there are multiple ways to contact the Ville Platte Police Department to report suspicious or illegal activities. If you see something in progress call 911. If you have information to share you can call 363-1313 or send a tip to TIP VILLE PLATTE. Downloading the TIP VILLE PLATTE app is free. You can report any of these ways and remain anonymous.
