Local Food Drive Successful

The Food for Families Food Drive in Ville Platte was another successful event. Local Drive Chairman Gene Fontenot reported to KVPI News that the drive netted 5 tons of food which is similar to what the drive raised last year. Also the drive collected about $2000 in monetary donations. Considering the poor economic conditions, Fontenot said he was pleased with the outcome. He thanks everyone who donated food and money as well as the many volunteers. All of the donations stay here locally at the Care and Share center to help needy local citizens.
