Ville Platte Rotary Club holds Installation Banquet Tuesday

The Ville Platte Rotary Club held its annual installation of officer's banquet Tuesday night at Café Evangeline. Chosen as Rotarian of the Year was Dr. Jerry Veillon. Incoming Rotary District Governor Yvonne Normand installed the new officers: President-Nicole Wenger; Incoming President Peter Strawitz; Vice President –Michael Lemoine; Secretary-Susan Saunders; Treasurer-Vic Slaven; Sgt. at Arms-Dr. Jerry Veillon; Board members-Annette Johnson, Larry Lachney, Jimmy Leblanc, Wayne Vidrine and Dr. Joey Soileau. The outgoing club President Peter Strawitz reviewed the past year and the various projects the local club was involved in. Club Secretary Susan Saunders was honored with a first place award for Newsletter and bulletins in District #6200 for her email messages to club members.

Swamp Pop music

The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.

Admission charge is $3 adults,

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
The museum is located on

Northwest Railroad Avenue.
