Ville Platte Police Investigating Assault Case

Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reports an assault. On Sunday, September 28, 2018 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Officers responded to a report of assault in the 500 block of East LaSalle Street. Upon arrival Officers met with the victim who stated that as she was walking with a friend on East LaSalle a female in a silver Chevrolet Malibu pulled up and stopped in front of them. A black female exited the vehicle and began pulling the victim's hair and punched her in the face. The victim stated to Officers that she believed that the assault occurred because of text messages involving her and another party. Acadian Ambulance was dispatched to the scene to provide medical attention. No further information is available at this time as the incident remains under investigation. Chief Lartigue is asking anyone with information on the incident to contact the Ville Platte Police Department at 363-1313. Your call will remain anonymous.
