Ville Platte Police investigating Armed Robbery

 
 
       Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reports an armed robbery and search for suspect.

On April 5, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m. Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a store located on the 700 block of Main Street in Ville Platte.  Upon arrival Officers learned that a black male wearing a black hoodie approached the register, pulled a gun and demanded that the cashier give him all of the money from the register.  The suspect then repeated his demands for the money from the second register.  After the suspect took the money from both registers, he fled the scene on foot. 

Through their investigation and surveillance footage Detectives identified the suspect as Johnathan Hakeem Williams 28 of 931 Rosa Ann Street, Opelousas is wanted for the charge of armed robbery. 

Williams should be considered armed and dangerous. 

Chief Lartigue is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williams to contact the Ville Platte Police Department at 363-1313.  Your call will remain anonymous.
