PEDESTRIANS STRUCK BY VEHICLE AND CITED FOR VIOLATIONS

According to Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue, on August 22, 2017 at approximately 8:00 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident in the area of North Chataignier and East Lincoln Road.  Upon arrival Officers learned that a Chevrolet Pickup had struck three people who were in the roadway.  The driver remained at the scene and stated that he was blinded by the headlights of an oncoming vehicle.    Acadian Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and transported three people to Opelousas General Medical Center with minor injuries.   The three pedestrians were cited for obstruction of a public passage and no reflective gear.

 

Chief Lartigue remind citizens that reporting suspicious and illegal activity will help remove criminals from our streets.  You can report information anonymously but calling the Ville Platte Police Department at 363-1313.
