SHOOTING SUSPECT IDENTIFIED AS BRANDON ARTHUR CARPENTER

As the ongoing investigation into the May 11, 2017 officer involved shooting continues, Louisiana State Police investigators have identified the suspect as Brandon Arthur Carpenter (W/M 35 yrs) of Elizabeth, LA.

The initial investigation by State Police revealed that Hessmer Police Department initiated a pursuit involving Carpenter.  The pursuit culminated at a residence near Moreauville on LA Hwy 114. Carpenter barricaded himself inside the residence while officers attempted to negotiate with him to surrender. During negotiations, Carpenter fired at officers.
