KVPI Representatives Speak at Rotary Club

The Ville Platte Rotary Club today (Tuesday) heard from representatives of KVPI. KVPI General Manager Mark Layne, KVPI News Director and Non Blonde Café Host Stephanie Ware and Co-Host Lisa Crane.

Layne announced to club members that KVPI has won the radio station of the year award for the seventh year in a row for its community service. For the first ever, KVPI won a second award for Best Morning Show for “The Non Blonde Café” with Stephanie Ware. The awards were presented at the annual Prestige Awards banquet held last month by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters.

Club members were able to view the actual video nomination clips that the judges reviewed. Special thanks to Suzie Lemoine with the Evangeline Parish Library for the use of their audio-video equipment.

Ware said she was proud of the reception she is receiving from the growing number of listeners on air and on social media for her daily morning show.

Crane said she was proud to be a part of a radio show that gives back to the community through community service programming. Crane is co-host with Stephanie Ware on “Women on Wednesday” during the Non Blonde Café.

Layne thanked the business community of Ville Platte for their support through the years. He expressed his appreciation to President Rhonda Fink Pucheu, a second generation broadcaster for her backing and guidance. He said he was proud that the radio station has never changed its primary goal of “Keeping Ville Platte Informed and Entertained” since 1953 when the station first signed on.

Rotary club member Jimmy LeBlanc was in charge of the program.
