Evangeline Parish Farm Bureau Holds Annual Meeting Monday Night

FARM BUREAU ANNUAL MEETING

MARCH 7, 2017

 

   The 65th annual meeting of the Evangeline Parish Farm Bureau took place Monday night at the Ville Platte Civic Center.

   The emcee was 2016 Farm Bureau President Scotty Fontenot. The Board of Directors were elected to serve another term in office. They are : Ward One: Felix Morein, Blyn Rozas and Jody D. Fontenot; Ward Two: J.D. Fontenot and Scotty Fontenot; Ward Three: Jake Ardoin, Ted Soileau, Richard Fontenot, and Bobby LaHaye; Ward Four: Tom Ardoin and Donald Deville and Ward Five: Walter Tortorich, Robert Soileau, Ike Morein and Robert Helmer.

    The new 2017 Farm Bureau Queen is Tara Fontenot, daughter of Scotty and Tammy Fontenot. She replaces the 2016 Queen Heidi Bieber of Mamou, the daughter of Cody and Shelly Bieber.

     It was announced that the Farm Bureau office in Ville Platte was remodeled in October of last year.

    State Representative Bernard LeBas spoke to the group about legislative activities in Baton Rouge.

     Assistant Farm Bureau Manager Jeremy Ortego gave the annual insurance report.
