Jury Finds LaFleur Guilty of Murder

KVPI News has been notified by Evangeline Parish District Attorney Trent Brignac that a 12 person jury has just returned from one hour of deliberations and has found defendant Danny Lee LaFleur  of Ville Platte guilty of First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery in connection with the TAT Nail Shooting that killed the business owner a year ago. The murder trial began Monday in 13th District Court with the selection of a jury. The guilty verdict means a mandatory sentence of life in prison. The sentencing date is tentatively set for July 19. We’ll have more details later today.
