Presidential Preference Primary Election - Saturday!

The Presidential Preference Primary Election and Special Election for Chief of Police in Mamou and in Chatagnier is scheduled for this Saturday, March 5th.  The polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.  Locally, you will have the following candidates to choose from.  If you are registered as a Republican, your choices will be only Republicans and vice versa if you are a registered Democrat.  The major candidates for President within the Democrat Party include Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and several other candidates.  The major candidates for President within the Republican Party include Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, John Kasich and several other candidates.  Locally, those eligible to vote for Police Chief in Mamou will have the choosing from the following candidates: A.J. Benoit, Chris Godeaux, Lucas Lavergne, Ricky McGee, Charles Perdices, Katina Richard and Brent Zackery.  Those eligible to vote for Chief of Police in Chatagnier will choose between two candidates: Joseph Clint Brasseaux and Big Mac Wilson.  KVPI News will cover the elections Saturday night from the Clerk of Court, Randy Deshotel’s office in the Evangeline Parish Courthouse.
