Pedestrian Killed in Ville Platte

On April 3, 2012 at approximately 8:00 p.m. the Ville Platte Police Department received a report of an accident involving a pedestrian.  Upon arrival Officers learned that the pedestrian was walking against the flow of traffic on East LaSalle when he apparently crossed over the line and stepped into the path of an oncoming vehicle.  A 55 year old man from Ville Platte was pronounced dead on the scene by the coroner.  The name is not being released at this time pending notification of family.  No charges have been filed against the driver and the investigation is ongoing pending toxicology results.
