Opelousas Light House Food Drive Was a Success

OPELOUSAS LIGHT MISSION FOOD DRIVE BIG SUCCESS

OCTOBER 14, 2015

The annual Hunters for the Hungry food drive for the benefit of the Opelousas Lighthouse Mission was a big success, according to spokesman Mike Fontenot.

This year the food drive expanded to the Ville Platte area with Teet’s Food Store, being the local drop off collection point. The drive collected 700 pounds of frozen food at the Ville Platte location. They are very pleased with the food collected for the first time.

The food drive overall collected 10,000 pounds of food which is the best the mission has ever collected. He would like to thank Chris and Luke Deville at Teet’s Food store for their assistance and to everyone who donated locally for the food drive.
