Qualifying begins for Candidates in Evangeline Parish Tuesday

 

 

 

 

      Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court Walter Lee announced that the following candidates have qualified for office in the October 22 Primary Election Tuesday for the first day of qualifying:

 

State Representative, 38th District- Incumbent Bernard LeBas and Peter Vidrine;

 

Sheriff- David Cedillo, Russell “Moose” Evans, Incumbent Eddie Soileau and Ted Soileau;

 

Clerk of Court- Randall “Randy” Deshotel, Weber Lee “Coach Weber” Deshotels Jr., Incumbent Walter Lee and Greg Tate;

 

Assessor- Incumbent Dirk DeVille;

 

Coroner- Incumbent Dr. Charles Fontenot;

 

Police Jury:

 

District One- Sherman Fontenot and Rocky Rider;

 

District Two- Incumbent Sidney Fontenot;

 

District Three- Incumbent Ryan Ardoin

 

District Four- Incumbent Lamar Johnson, Robert Johnson Sr. and Stan Leger;

 

District Five- Justin Deshotel, Joseph LeBleu Jr, Incumbent Bob Manuel and Kevin Veillon;

 

District Six- Incumbent Eric Soileau;

 

District Seven- Incumbent Bryan Vidrine;

 

District Eight- Earl “Tenny” Doucet and Incumbent Ryan “LeDay” Williams

 

District Nine-Virginia Freeman and Incumbent Richard “Blood” Thomas.

 

   The qualifying continues through Thursday at 5;00pm at the Clerk of Court’s office in the courthouse.

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
