Ville Platte Man Seriouly Injured in Train Accident Friday

 

 

       A Ville Platte man was seriously injured in a train accident Friday afternoon near the Ward One Industrial Park. A spokesman for Evangeline Parish Sheriff Eddie Soileau identified the victim as Kyle Fontenot age 24 of Ville Platte. The accident occurred at 1:27pm on Industrial Road at the Railroad crossing. The sheriff’s office spokesman said Fontenot was driving a pickup truck and apparently did not stop at the crossing when his truck struck the Acadiana Railway train that was crossing at the time. Fontenot was transported to a local hospital by Acadian Ambulance with a broken leg.
