Mamou Cajun Music Fest Success

 

 

 

 

   The 40th  Annual Mamou Cajun Music Festival was one of the best ever, according to a spokesman for  the group. The festival kicked off Friday with a large group of people enjoying the music. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs. Carroll Ardoin of Richard for winning the popular Potato dance .

    On Saturday morning visitors from as far away as Australia attended the event that included top name bands in Cajun music, delicious Cajun foods and contests for the kids.

KVPI 1050 AM was there Saturday morning broadcasting live. Terry Huval of the band Jambalaya was honored for his contributions to Cajun music through the years.

Swamp Pop music

The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.
 

Admission charge is $3 adults,

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
The museum is located on

Northwest Railroad Avenue.
