     Here are the results of the 2014 Smoked Meat Festival held this past Saturday at the city park grounds:

 

Professional Grand Champion Winner: Big Mamou Beef Jerky for Big Foot Ribs. Head chef Damien Douget and team members Pat Reed, Mark Ardoin and Perry Bertrand.

Amateur Grand Champion Winners- Cameron Team 1 with their winning dish “Backed Up Macaroni” with Head Chef Mickey Johnson and team members Ava Vidrine, Jacob Soileau, Marcus Colligan and Keith Saucier.

Bes Dressed Team- First Place- Krewe de Cameron; Second Place- Citizens Bank; and Third Place- Evangeline Bank.

Best Decorated Booth—First Place- Citizens Bank; Second Place- Krewe de Evangeline and Third Place-Evangeline Bank;

 

In the Professional Division:

Sausage, Andouille and Ponce Category: First Place-Big Mamou Beef Jerkey; Second Place- Bryan and the Boucanee’ Coullions And Third Place- Teet’s Food Store Team One;

Tasso Category- First Place- Cajun Crawfish Tails; Second Place- Teet’s Food Store Team 2; Third Place- Nick’s on Main;

Smoked Seafood Category- First Place- Mercy Regional Medical Center Team 1; Second Place- Big Mamou Beef Jerkey and Third Place- Bryan and the Boucanee’ Coullions;

Smoked Poultry Category- First Place- Bryan and the Boucanee’ Coullions; Second Place-  Betsy Jackson for Judge Team; Third Place- B&S Grocery;

Smoked Game Category- First Place- Mercy Regional Medical Center Team 1; Second Place- Bryan and the Boucanee’ Coullions; Third Place- Eric Veillion State Farm;

Barbecue Smoker Category- First Place- Big Mamou Beef Jerkey; Second Place- R-T=Go’s; and Third Place- Nick’s on Main.

 

 

In the Amateur Division:

Swamp Pop music

The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.
 

Admission charge is $3 adults,

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
The museum is located on

Northwest Railroad Avenue.
