POLICE JURY DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY

MAY 12, 2011

The Evangeline Parish Police Jury has declared a State of Emergency due to the possible need of assisting neighboring parishes who may become flooded along the Atchafalaya River in St. Landry and surrounding parishes. Evangeline Parish Police Jury President Eric Soileau has declared a State of Emergency so that in the event federal funding becomes available, the parish will be able to seek reimbursement for any expenses incurred with this event. Evangeline Parish is not expected to have any flooding from this event. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Evangeline Parish Police Jury at 363-5651 or the Evangeline Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness at 363-5651.
