Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce Plans Community Fund Raiser to Assist Family of Murdered Businessman

 

VILLE PLATTE CHAMBER SPONSORS FUND DRIVE FOR SPOUSE OF SHOOTING VICTIM

      The Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors , in a special noon meeting,  voted to sponsor a community wide fund drive to raise funds to help raise money for the family of  Mr. Tuc-Do who was shot to death in an armed robbery at his Nail Salon last Friday. His survivors include a young pregnant wife and a four year old son. The family lived in Ville Platte and their son is registered to begin pre school in the fall.

     The chamber board is urging businesses and residents to make a donation of any amount. Those wishing to make a donation can visit any bank in Ville Platte. A special account has been set up under the name of Chamber of Commerce Benefit for Tuc-Do family. The fund drive will continue until June 15.

     In other business, Chamber Executive Director Camille Fontenot reported that last week’s Chamber Civic Awards banquet was a big success. The chamber raised $5828 from the result of the popular silent auction.
