Parish Jail Report

A number of suspects were arrested and booked in to the Evangeline Parish Jail this past week, according to a spokesman for Evangeline Parish Sheriff Eddie Soileau. They include:

Virginia Ann Poullard age 45 of 1327 MLK Drive, Ville Platte was arrested April 14 and charged with theft. Bond set at $10,000;

Matthew Blaine Baquet age 21 of Baton Rougewas arrested April 15 and charged with unauthorized entry and simile criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $15,000;

Christine Bertrand age 47 of Mamou was arrested April 12 and charged with introducing contraband, a cell phone, into the parish jail. Bond was setat $10,000;

Christopher Washington age 18 of 412 East Cotton, Ville Platte was arrested April 12 and charged with simple burglary. Bond was set at $15,000;

And Malcolm Crosby age 63 of 1663 Red Lick Road, Ville Platte was arrested April 13 and charged with Second Degree Cruelty to Juveniles.

Swamp Pop music

The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
