Ville Platte Recreational Complex To Be Expanded

VILLE PLATTE RECREATIONAL COMPLEX TO BE EXPANDED
APRIL 10, 2016

Good news for local baseball and softball fans. Our local legislative delegation, State Senator Eric Lafleur and State Representative Bernard LeBas, announced at the Dixie Youth opening ceremonies Saturday that state money has been secured to expand the Ville Platte Sports Complex. Over the next two years, the current complex will be expanded to add a new pod to hold four additional fields. This will greatly help in attracting large tournaments to the complex.

The weather was perfect as large crowds gathered for the opening weekend games at the sports complex. All of the girls teams as well as all of the boys teams competed in games on Saturday.

KVPI Sports was there for the first time, we broadcast the entire opening ceremonies with Emcee: Clerk of Court Randy Deshotel. We also covered both games of the Dixie Majors games over KVPI-FM with Sports Announcer Tracy Jagneaux.
