Joan Jett doesn't give a damn if canceling shows gives her a bad reputation.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has called off the shows she was due to perform in September while she recovers from recent surgery. A note on her Instagram Story says that she's "undergone orthopedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae" due to a "recent injury," and on the advice of her doctors, she "will not be able to perform" at the dates.

Jett was set to play the OC Fair Sept. 5 in Costa Mesa, California, and the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, on Sept. 24. There, she was on a bill that also includes Foo Fighters, 4 Non Blondes, Cheap Trick and Queens of the Stone Age.

"While Joan hates to disappoint fans, she will be taking this time to focus on physical therapy and healing," the note continued. "She’s looking forward to delivering tremendous concerts for many years to come.”
