Barbra Streisand can add "children's book author" to her already extensive resume.

The entertainment legend will publish And by the Way… in March 30, 2027. The book, illustrated by Paige Keiser, is now available for preorder. It follows a grandparent and grandchild as they "contemplate life's most important truths," according to the publisher.

One line in the book reads, "Dress up, speak up, and dream big." Another reads, "Reach for the moon with your big ideas. And by the way . . . in my heart, you’re already a shining star."

In a statement via Publisher's Weekly, Streisand says, "I love being ‘Gamma Barbra’ to my three wonderful young grandchildren. One of our favorite activities is reading picture books together.... So, I thought it would be fun to write my own book for them, and hopefully, for other parents and grandparents to read to their little ones!”

The title of the book, Streisand says, is "an expression I use quite often. It seems like there’s always one more thing to say! The message is one of discovery, self-expression, self-reliance, and of course, love.”

Streisand's 2023 autobiography, My Name Is Barbra, was a best seller, despite weighing in at nearly 1,000 pages in its physical edition.
