Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce Banquet

The Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce will have their annual awards banquet Thursday April 28 at 7:00pm at the Ville Platte Civic Center. It weas announced that retired Lt. General Russel Honore’ will be the guest speaker. He is best known for serving as commander of Joint Task Force Katrinia responsible for coordinating military relief efforts for Hurricane Katrinia-affected areas across the Gulf Coast.
Here are the nominees this year: For Man of the Year: Mark Buller- New York Life Agent; Lee Edward Clark- self employed/volunteer; Randy Deshotels-Clerk of Court; Clarence Rivers-retired educator/volunteer.
For Woman of the Year: Renee Brown-Smoked Meat Festival Chairperson; Rebecca Buller-Keep Evangeline Beautiful Chairperson; Hilda Edwards-City of Ville Platte; and Diana Freeman-Johnson-JAG Chairperson.
Business Person of the Year: Luke Deville-Teet’s Food Store; Scott and Amy Dupre-Teet’s Food Store; Toni Hamlin- Evangeline Parish School Superintendent; Alana McClaskey-The Flower Patch;
Business of the year: B&S Grocery; H.L. Pitre and Sons; The Flower Patch; Teet’s Food Store and Uptown Cake Company.
