Police arrest suspect on theft charges

Chief Neal Lartigue Reports one arrest for identity theft. On June 6, 2019 the Ville Platte Police Department responded to report of theft at a law office on West Main Street in Ville Platte. According to the report a former employee had used the personal credit card of the business owner as well as company cards to make personal purchases, draft her bills and pay bills. According to the report over $30,000.00 was taken during her time employed at the law firm. Danyelle Brignac 34 of 1300 Maggio Rd., Ville Platte was arrested for one count of felony identity theft and one count of felony theft. Brignac was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail on a $50,000.00 bond. No photo was available at press time. Chief Lartigue reminds residents to report any suspicious or illegal activity to the Ville Platte Police Department by calling 363-1313. Your call will remain anonymous.

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.
