French Immersion Students Entertain Rotary Club Members

The Rotary Club of Ville Platte today (Tuesday) had a special treat compliments of the French Immersion first grade students from Ville Platte and Mamou Elementary Schools. The students who are into their second year of the Immersion program treated club members with Christmas songs such as "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" as well as the Pledge of Allegiance all in French. Accompanying the students were Ville Platte Elementary Principal Sally Moreau and Mamamou Elementary Principal Troy Fontenot. School Superintendent and Rotary member Darwan Lazard introduced the school officials in attendance. It was announced that the Kindergarten students in French Immersion will entertain at the police jury meeting next Tuesday at 2;00pm at the courthouse. The immersion students in the Second Grade will be appearing on TV 10 in the next few weeks. It was announced that there will be no noon luncheon next Tuesday due to the Christmas social planned for next Tuesday night December 11 at 6;00pm.
