VILLE PLATTE SUSPECT CAUGHT AFTER FLEEING FROM POLICE

Ville Platte Police Chief, Neal Lartigue reports a recent pursuit with one arrest.

On June 21, 2017 at approximately 11:00 p.m. an Officer with the Ville Platte Police Department observed a vehicle traveling west in the east bound lane of West Main Street.  As the Officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated speed and a short pursuit began.  The vehicle described as a grey Jeep turned onto HWY 167 and traveled a short distance before coliding with a set of mailboxes.  The driver exited the vehicle and fled and was captured after a short foot pursuit.  

Cedrick Gallow 33, of 114 S. Soileau Street, Ville Platte, was arrested and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, improper lane usage, improper display of license plate, no driver’s license, failure to have proper paperwork in vehicle, and no insurance.   Gallow was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office jail on a $17,740.00 bond.
