BUSINESSES ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION WHEN ACCEPTING CASH FOR PAYMENT

Ville Platte Chief of Police, Neal Lartigue is urging business owners to use caution when accepting cash for purchases.  A local business had a customer make a purchase with counterfeit money Wednesday morning consisting of nine (9) counterfeit $50.00 bills and one (1) counterfeit $100.00 bill.  The suspect got away but police are investigating and reviewing video footage.  A similar occurrence took place in Breaux Bridge recently.

If you have anyone try to present any type of counterfeit payment at your business or if you know anyone who is trying to pass counterfeit money throughout the community, you are urged to contact the police department at 363-2124.
