2017 Smoked Meat Festival Kicks Off

June 2, 2017

The 25th annual Louisiana Smoked Meat Festival kicked off tonight with perfect weather, delicious food and great live music. The festival has moved a short distance to the civic center grand pavilion with a large dancing area and a new stage.

Festival goers were able to bring their children to the carnival to ride the rides and enjoy the games. Adults were able to enjoy Wicked Waters and later tonight Hit and Run.

The Classic Hits road crew were there covering it live with Josh and Mark. We spoke with many of those manning booths and cooking up food tonight. Be sure to look for Carly and Mark Saturday as we will be back at the festival from 10-1 including our live broadcast of the opening ceremonies for those who cannot attend.

The schedule Saturday includes the Smoked Meat Cook off and judging   from 8-11am; 12;00 noon- Opening Ceremonies honoring all veterans; 3;00pm- Announcement of the winners in the cook off; 7-9pm- One Trick Pony; 10-12 midnight- Nashville Star Aaron Tippin. Admission is only $10 per person.
