VILLE PLATTE CHIEF OF POLICE NEAL LARTIGUE REPORTS 3 ARRESTS IN RECENT BURGLARIES

On March 4, 2017 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in the 700 block of South Chataignier.  Upon arrival Officers learned that approximately 42 storage units had been broken into.  Officers notified the on-call Detective and the owners contacted the tenants of the storage units that were burglarized.  The investigation led to the arrest of 1 adult and 2 juveniles and stolen items were recovered.  It is unknown at this time if there are other items that have not been recovered as the investigation is ongoing.

 

Chief Neal Lartigue stated that they are continuing to investigate to make sure that all storage tenants have been contacted and have inventoried their belongings to make sure that everything has been recovered. 

 

Arrested were Aaron Landry 17, of 112 Cotton Street, Ville Platte. Landry was charged with felony criminal damage to property, 6 counts of theft, and theft of a firearm.  Also arrested was a 13 year old black male and a 14 year old white male who have also been charged with the same charges.  Landry’s bond was set at $60,000.00 and the juveniles were released to their parents pending court notification.
